GLA can prevent IL-1β-induced cartilage extracellular matrix breakdown. A qPCR study of mRNA expression of MMP13, SOX9, and COL2A1. D IL-1β stimulated cells were seeded at a cell density of 107/ml in 24-well plates and treated with or without GLA for 6 days. This is a stained cell picture using toluidine blue solution.
