The measurement of femoral neck shortening. On the anteroposterior radiograph, the line was made through the center of the femoral head in the long axis of the femoral neck on both sides. The distance between the tip of the femoral head and the intertrochanteric line was measured. And the length of femoral neck shortening is the distance on the uninjured side minus the distance on the injured side
