Blood was collected from the lateral tail vein of anaesthetised animals for ROTEM, haematology and quantitation of plasma inflammatory cytokines at 4 h, day 1, 3, 5 and 28 postoperative. Animals were euthanised 28 days following surgery for assessment of joint tissue metrics
