Coronal P45 section of the knee joint (through the tibiofibular joint). In the lateral condyle of the tibia, the trabeculae above the fibular head are tiny and sparsely reticulated, accounting for about one-quarter of the width of the lateral condyle. The thicker, longitudinally arranged trabeculae can be seen between the articular surface and the epiphyseal bone cortex in the remaining three-quarters.
