Two positive growths of the same organism using standard culture methods | |
Sinus tract with evidence of communication to the joint or visualization of the prosthesis | |
Minor criteria (combined scoring system) | |
Elevated serum CRP or D-dimer | |
Elevated serum ESR | |
Elevated synovial WBC or leukocyte esterase or positive alpha-defensin | |
Elevated synovial polymorphonuclear percentage | |
Single positive culture | |
Positive histology | |
Positive intraoperative purulence |
