Quantitative analysis of MMP expression at 4 weeks post-implantation. A statistically significant difference was recorded at 4 weeks between FiberWire intact and FiberWire particles for MMP-1 (p = 0.024), MMP-2 (p = 0.009), MMP-9 (p = 0.002), and MMP-13 (p = 0.007). The difference for MMP-3 was not significant (p = 0.058). All data are expressed as mean ± standard error. *p < 0.05
