The subdivision of TPFs by TCC. According to the three-column classification (TCC), the tibial plateau is divided into three columns, including the lateral (anterolateral), medial (anteromedial), and posterior columns. The posterior column is then subdivided into two sub-columns, the posterolateral and posteromedial sub-columns. The fractures could be divided into 14 patterns, in which four different quadrants of the tibial plateau might be involved.
