Insertion of K-wires. The K-wire was inserted through K-wire fixation sleeves (No. 1, No. 2, No. 3) (a, b). The K-wire (No.1, No.2) was inset at 3–4 cm below the medial tibial plateau. The position of the lateral hinge was suggested to be about 5–10 mm from the lateral edge of the tibia plateau. The K-wire (No.1, No.2) direction is the line between the uppermost end of the fibular head and the medial cutting point and the sawing depth should be reserved for 1 cm width of the lateral hinge (c, d)
