Results of MRI performed preoperatively (a and c) and 12 months postoperatively (b and d) on two patients. The experiment group (a and b) was a 30-year-old male with arthritis in patellofemoral joint. T1-weighted fast spin-echo sagittal view 12 months after surgery showed obvious cartilage reparation with the MOCART score of 80. The control group (c and d) was a 38-year-old female with approximately same arthritis in patellofemoral joint. T1-weighted fast spin-echo sagittal view 12 months after surgery showed less cartilage reparation with the MOCART score of 55
