MRI imaging and intraoperative photo documentation of a 65-year-old male patient who presented with a soft tissue tumor situated in the right iliac muscle measuring approximately 5.7 × 4.8 × 4.6 cm ((ad), tumor margins marked with arrows). The tumor was hypointens on T1 (a, c) and hyperintens on T2 (b, d) images. Core needle biopsy confirmed a low-grade (G1) myxofibrosarcoma. As the tumor was close to the external iliac vessels a marginal resection was performed. The photographs demonstrate the intraoperative situation before (e) and after (f) tumor resection; the external iliac vessels are tagged (f)
