Sample processing overview. A total of 41 serum samples were collected at time of surgery from subjects with (n = 10) and without (n = 31) heterotopic ossification. Serum samples were pooled by disease state and subjected to an isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ) mass spectrometry (MS) analysis.
