Effect of simvastatin on the motor neuron oxidative stress induced with ischemia–reperfusion. Oxidative stress of the motor neuron was assessed with DCFDA assay. OGD led to marked increase in DCF labeling of cells. Simvastatin treatment (0.1, 1, and 10 μM) effectively reduced DCF labeling following OGD.
