This is a 34-year-old male who was diagnosed of mild spinal tuberculosis (L5/S1) with sacral abscess; the patient was treated with standard chemotherapy for 18 months. a The MRI before the treatment shows an intervertebral edema of L5/S1 and the formation of sacral abscess anteriorly (arrow); the Cobb angle of local lordosis (yellow lines) was 33.4°. b The MRI after 5 years shows complete absence of sacral abscess and the intervertebral edema, and the Cobb angle of local lordosis (yellow lines) was 31.5°; there was no significant progression of local kyphosis or simultaneous spinal fusion
